If you click on my favorites in my Etsy shop you’ll find an abundance of birds (and deer). We feed our garden birds every day and we have family membership of the wonderful RSPB club so with all this birding love happening I have made it a determined mission to work out a knit bird pattern. (I have so far failed in my deer pattern which turned out looking like a llama but not enough like a llama to be one). Here are pics of my experiments, oops, I mean PROTOTYPES, to date.

A glimpse of a child’s play. I love it when I turn around and see the scene my girl has created. Here, how wonderful, a world where knit cats, whales, slugs and snails – oh and even a butterfly chrysalis – gather together to enjoy one another’s company while companionably sharing a couple of cupcakes.

Primary Slug Tribe slither on to Etsy's front page

I am not a primary colors person. I can see their appeal to others and realise that without them the world of print would be devoid of any color at all. However, I know lots of people love primary colors so I made Primary Colors Slug Tribe – who in turn made it to the front page of Etsy.com. Yay!

I made the executive decision this morning while not completely awake to open a hand knit clothing store, LullabyLove on folksy.com. This was made very easy by just moving almost everything out of my Vestments Etsy shop into the new one!

Darling M. has been investigating Folksy.com recently with her gorgeous Covetables shop of glorious dolls and plushies. So I am experimenting with and supporting a new UK-based handmade and vintage desirables website. I think it goes international from February 2009.

Hearting You

January 17, 2009

Ah, Valentines Day is coming! Hearts and red flowers, marriage proposals and red knit pigs. Stop, wait! Knit pig? Mmmnn. Here is my first little ode to the Cupid bow this year – I Love You Valentine Pig who is all the lush, passionate colors of romance and is complete with a little gold heart pin on the tag.
