Alaskan Malamute and Lambswool wrist warmers

Husky warmers? No, not ways to warm up your husky – a way to warm your hands with your husky! (Apart from the obvious way of patting them until your hands are warm!)

So warm and cosy

This weekend I made these Alaskan Malamute and lambswool yarn wrist warmers, fingerless gloves, wrist cuffs, whatever you fancy calling them. The Malamute wool is the undercoat of my first Mal, darling Boo (aka Paharey Ttorque of Australia) which an expert spinner hand carded and hand spun for me with lambswool. Ha! The lamb DOES lie with the wolf after all and to our benefit when it comes to yarns!

I am loving this cable pattern, it’s so bulky and the texture is wonderful. The Mal and lambswool yarn is not the softest yarn in the world to have against your skin so I lined the gloves with a pretty cotton fabric which makes them reversible! Ta-da!

Ooo - lovely on the inside too

Now I am on to matching legwarmers! Gosh it would be too cute to make booties out of Mal yarn for sled dogs!

and not so scratchy this way round after all ...
